The Health & Safety Executive recommend that to comply with the regulations an inspection and testing schedule must be implemented at all workplaces. The frequency of this schedule will depend on the type of environment, but will typically be either 3 or 5 years intervals.

Periodic Testing is the testing of an electrical installation in a building from the main incoming power all the way to the smallest final circuits that could include lighting, general power, socket outlets, motors and machines.

Scotts Electrical Services will carry out testing, and as such we are committed to providing a report of the condition of any installation we work on. We will recommend remedial works that is required and we can also provide a quotation for this work.

We are an NICEIC approved contractor and all our Engineers have City and Guilds 2382 and City and Guilds 2391 to allow them to carry out inspection and testing in accordance with Part 6 Inspection And Testing of BS7671:2008 of the IEE Wiring Regulations and the relevant Guidance Notes issued by the IET.

When Periodic Testing is being carried out there is a requirement for parts of the installation to be isolated for periods of time. It is often advisable to perform testing out of hours so that disruption to the client and staff on site can be kept to a minimum. We will work with the client to perform necessary tasks during shutdown periods. This exceptional service level has enabled us to be successful in winning major inspection and testing contracts. We are currently working on an NI Water contract to periodically inspect and test 2750 sites around Northern Ireland to be completed.

We use powerful test instruments and software tools to provide test data electronically on official NICEIC paperwork.

  • NICEIC approved contractor
  • Independent and unbiased assessment of the installation
  • NICEIC certificates and electronic reports
  • Engineers qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 and City & Guilds 2382, 2391.
Periodic Testing can be a major undertaking in any organization, but Scotts can provide a flexible solution which will reduce the disruption in your business.
