Testing and Inspection Engineer

  • Contract: Full time / Permanent
  • Working Hours: 38 hours
  • Salary: Premium Rates for Experienced Professionals
  • Reporting to: Contracts Manager
  • Location: Across various sites with the main office at Unit C2, 20 Heron Rd, Belfast BT3 9LE

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Initial & Periodic testing and inspection of commercial and industrial installations.

Essential Criteria

  • Time served, fully qualified electrician to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Hold a full driving license.
  • City & Guilds 2382, 18th Edition;
  • Qualified to City & Guilds 2391, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations or Equivalent
  • Proven experience of periodic installation testing and knowledge and experience of completing NIECEIC reports
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Additional duties to include

  • Electrical Installation, repair and maintenance work within commercial and industrial environments as required by contracts manager.
  • To document all paperwork necessary to contract or day works,
  • To carry out work on site independently with no supervision,
  • To plan and organise jobs as required by the contract’s manager,
  • To participate in all training initiatives specific to the job,
  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested by management,
  • To take reasonable care of own and others safety; to co-operate with managers/supervisors in complying with statutory Health & Safety duties; to report incidents, accidents, faults etc.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proven knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Experience in electrical fault finding
  • Hold a current CSR card; and
  • IPAF trained
  • Competent in the use of various IT software packages

Person Specification

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability for drive and enthusiasm in completing their workload and have the ability to identify and resolve technical problems onsite. Be a good team member and demonstrate ability to work unsupervised.Good organisational skills including time management.

  • 38 hours per week, 2pm early finish on Fridays
  • Paid overtime after 38 hours. Sunday double time.
  • May be opportunities to work in GB and further afield if desired
